The Iron Lady Versus My Iron Will

With Hollywood once again making a fortune out of films which embellish history at best, but change it at worst; their current offering entitled The Iron Lady, seeks to tell the life story of one Margaret Thatcher, the most evil of politicians this country has seen in the last 100 years!

I have no intention of watching a film which sanitises the evil of this woman. To me she does not exemplify the politics of a female leader, but is the embodiment of macho callous evil; more appropriate to Hitler.

Indeed whilst many, friends and foe alike, say she at least had the courage of her convictions and did not compromise them in her control of power. This is said as if to sanitise her policies and its evil effect on this country.

I remind them that exactly the same can be said of the politics and convictions of Adolf Hitler, Stalin, and Gaddafi!

She did prove however, that a woman can be far more ruthless in her aims than a man, and that men are generally in awe of a woman's power. If it were not for the gutless men around her, she would never have remained in power as long as she did.

Indeed, the cowardous way in which she was toppled as a leader was not on the basis of what was best for the country, as Thatcher truly believed was her aims, but because the Tories were about to lose their power in government had they not stabbed her in the back.

It is interesting to see that her own family is fragmented and her children seldom see her. Interesting if not only because she engineered a fragmented society in much the same way, as she did her family.

However, we must not raise Thatcher to that of an all powerful political saint!

Thatcher would never have been as powerful as she was if it were not for both the acquiescence of the men in her party, and that of the British people who were happy to re-elect an evil person who destroyed jobs, communities, ethics and morality within the British psyche.

We now have a far greater evil to contend with in the form of Cameron, coupled with the Thatcher heritage of a callous self centred nation.

This cannot be denied and dismissed as the view of a self opinionated old Trade Unionist, for it is evidenced in the DNA of the British electorate as discovered via the microscopic examination of numerous political opinion polls.

Only a callous, self centred nation could possibly be happy to support a government with fascist aims of persecuting the less well off, the infirm, disabled, elderly, and vulnerable; whilst at the same time as ensuring the remainder of the population works harder and longer for less; as the policies of the powerful and the rich entrench themselves even further into the British psyche on the basis of there being no alternative.

We must also not forget that abstention is merely the coward’s way of giving tacit support, and so those not voting at all in the election of a Government, by default support whichever political party gets into power, and subsequently the ruling parties policies and principles.

No more adequately can this fact be expressed other than in the words of Elie Wiesel, Holocaust survivor:

“We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim.
Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.”

So now to turn to the crux of the matter:

The I’m Alright Jack mentality, cultivated so cleverly by Thatcher and now resurrected by Thatcher 2, in the form of David Cameron; is the blood (type IAJ) running through the veins of those supporting such fascist neo-Nazi policies now being forced upon the country by morally bankrupt and politically impotent MPs. Without this IAJ blood, Thatcher 2 plans would not succeed.

But there is a warning in history for this callous and self centred society:

The 18 years of Thatcherism showed that sooner or later, even those with IAJ blood type, become victims of those same policies they now support; and the political leukaemia with which they are ultimately riddled, will destroy them, in the same way as the lives of the less well off, the infirm, disabled, elderly and vulnerable; are being destroyed right now.

The moral lesson is simple, there but for the grace of God go I.

The history lesson is even easier to understand.

In the words of Pastor Martin Niemoller:

First they came for the Communists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Communist

Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Socialist

Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a trade unionist

Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew

Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me

I for one cannot wait for the history lesson to be learnt sooner rather than later.

There is no excuse for standing idly by and ultimately refusing responsibility and walking away. The argument that there is no alternative and there is nothing I can personally do feeds only the evil of apathy, irresponsibility, acquiescence and immorality!

My contempt for the majority of the British people who choose the above is only overshadowed by my wish for the evil policies that they now support to be visited upon them as quickly as possible!

However, to parody Albert Einstein:

"Nothing that I can do will change the structure of British politics. But maybe,
by raising my voice I can help the greatest of all causes – the revival of ethics, morality and equality within our society and that of the British psyche."
